There are responsibilities involved in taking care of an animal, as there are diseases that can affect animals and horses. There are many causes like food habits or parasites, and the main thing is quick and timely treatment for its recovery.
Colic is a condition that cannot be ignored. Horses are known to die of this if left untreated. The symptoms can easily be noticed and horse owners should be aware of the signs to look out for.
Symptoms Of Colic In Horses

There are drugs to treat equine colic. Sometimes herbs are advised but it should be mixed before administering it.
There is no single remedy for equine colic. Everything depends on the animal’s reaction and ability to cope with the treatment.
A horse may be treated and live, but there is every possibility that it will reappear unless adequate precautions are taken.
Some of the precautions are to administer multivitamins, keep the stable area clean, a good diet, water, rest and exercise.
It is also necessary for horse owners to be well informed about diseases affecting horses and equine colic in particular, as nothing can be worse than having to put the animal to sleep if there is no response to treatment. Remember that timely administering of treatment is always advisable so that you can rest assured that your animal is comfortable and free from pain.
